Shell is an integrated oil and gas company that explores for, produces, and refines oil around the world. In 2025, it produced 1.5 million barrels of liquids and 7.3 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. At year-end 2025, reserves stood at 8.1 billion barrels of oil equivalent, 44% of which consisted of liquids. Its production and reserves are in Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa, and North and South America. The company operates refineries with a capacity of 1.4 mmb/d located in the Americas, Asia, and Europe, and sells about 9 million tons per year of chemicals. Its largest chemical plants, often integrated with its local refineries, are in Northwestern Europe, China, and North America.

Venezuela's state-owned oil company PDVSA and Spain's Repsol signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at increasing crude and natural gas production in northwestern Venezuela. The agreement focuses on new exploration opportunities in the eastern coast of Lake Maracaibo through their existing joint venture, Petroquiriquire, with plans to boost output by around 20,000 barrels per day of light crude from the current average production of 40,000 barrels per day. The additional crude is expected to supply Venezuela's Paraguaná Refining Center, supporting domestic fuel production. Separately, Venezuela recently finalized five agreements with Shell to advance oil and gas projects, including Shell's participation in the Loran offshore gas field, which is shared with Trinidad and Tobago and holds an estimated 7 trillion cubic feet of reserves. $SHEL The model lifted SHEL's score from 61 to 66 while the stock has given back ground, YTD now at 10.1% versus 14.2% prior. Brent at $82.73 and a Hormuz resolution in progress is a tricky backdrop: the priced-in read just stepped down from high to medium, which leaves room for re-rating if crude stabilises. The risk is that a full Friday reopening removes the last geopolitical prop and oil slides further into the seventies.
