View on StockTwits ↗American Express reported better-than-expected Q2 results and raised its 2026 revenue outlook, citing stronger consumer spending and continued momentum across its premium card business. CEO Steve Squeri said the company has seen greater-than-anticipated growth during the first half of the year. Revenue rose 10% year-over-year, while customer spending increased 9%, the strongest pace in three years on a currency-adjusted basis. Total billed business reached $455.8 billion, surpassing analyst expectations of $454.8 billion. Adjusted earnings came in at $4.53 per share, above the $4.41 consensus estimate. Following the strong quarter, American Express now expects full-year revenue growth to reach the high end of its previous 9%-10% guidance range. Expenses increased 12% to $14.5 billion, reflecting higher rewards usage, customer engagement costs, marketing spending, and investments in refreshing its Platinum Card offerings. $AXP
