View on StockTwits ↗Your moment of zen.... The SEC has proposed a major change to corporate reporting rules that would allow public companies to file financial reports twice a year instead of 4 times. Under current regulations, companies must submit 3 quarterly reports on Form 10-Q along w/ an annual report. The proposed amendments would introduce a new Form 10-S, giving companies the option to replace quarterly filings w/ a single semiannual report while continuing annual reporting. The SEC said the move is aimed at increasing flexibility for companies & investors. If adopted, companies choosing the semiannual option would file their reports within 40 to 45 days after the end of the first half of their fiscal year, depending on their filing status. The proposal also includes changes to Regulation S-X to streamline financial disclosure requirements. The SEC said the changes are intended to reduce compliance burdens while allowing companies to better align reporting practices w/ business needs. --- Make sense for President Trump appointee to reduce transparency!!! This will create an info vacuum of upto 6 months - Retail does not have the resources like institutional traders & hedge funds - this will create a larger asymmetry of information currently exists & disadvantage retail traders even further BTW is reporting really that burdensome - IMHO it is getting easier & easier w/ more robust tax software & should get even easier w/ AI This isn't about saving time; it's about reducing the frequency of public accountability $INTU $DFIN $HRB $XLF $TRI
