Republican Senator Joni Ernst has introduced an amendment to the US Senate's spending megabill that would change 2 of the most contentious parts of that bill & could give a small boost to wind & solar projects that had been targeted in the draft being debated on the Senate floor.
The amendment introduced by Ernst, & supported by fellow Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley & Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski would remove the proposed new tax on wind & solar projects that start after 2027 & make the credits available based on projects' construction start date instead of when they enter service.
The amendment will be introduced on the Senate floor during today's "vote-a-rama"

$ERF $CHRD Chord Energy filed a definitive proxy statement for its proposed acquisition of Enerplus. Shareholders are scheduled to vote at 9am CT on May 14.
Regulatory conditions: HSR was filed on March 6, and the applicable 30-day waiting period expired on April 5. The transaction is subject to approval under the Investment Canada Act. The parties filed for review with the Foreign Investment Review and Economic Security Branch of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada on March 6.
