Global Ship Lease Inc is a containership owner, leasing ships to container shipping companies under industry-standard, fixed-rate time charters. Its fleet comprises mid-size Post-Panamax, Cypress, and smaller containerships, which tend to serve the faster-growing non-Mainlane and intra-regional trades, collectively representing the majority of the containerized trade volume globally. The company generates revenue from chartering its vessels to liner companies.

$GSL $SBLK 🚨 THE AI ROTATION & THE INTEREST RATE WEAPON 🚨 Capital is rotating from overvalued AI into high-yield shipping. Here’s why high interest rates are a WEAPON for these stocks. High borrowing costs mean competitors can't afford to build new ships. Supply is permanently choked. This makes $GSL an absolute fortress. Because $GSL has 100% of 2026 contracts locked in, high rates protect their moat perfectly. SBLK wins on low supply too, butGSL’s fixed rates make it the ultimate safe haven. ANALYST TARGETS & CHEAPNESS: Wall Street considers $GSL seriously undervalued, with an average target of $48.96 and highs of $53.55.$SBLK has an average target of $31.98 (highs of $37.00).$GSL is fundamentally much cheaper. THE MACRO: High-rate supply restrictions are colliding with a 150-year El Niño drying the Panama Canal AND Houthis blocking the Suez. Total supply chain squeeze. Expect massive Q2 cash flows on Aug 5th. $SPY $USO $IWM
View on StockTwits ↗$GSL $SBLK $SPY $USO $ZIM El Niño risk jumped fast: the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) says the probability of a severe El Niño rose from 25% in April to 81% by July 22 Canal administrator Ricaurte Vásquez said the probability of a severe El Niño had increased significantly, from 25% in April to 81% currently, and as a result, ACP was “ready to implement preventive measures based on lessons learned during the 2023–2024 El Niño event.” First concrete step: ACP cancelled Period 3 auctions at its Panamax locks this week, which effectively reduces total daily transit capacity from 36 to 34 vessels/day. For context/scale: in the 2023–24 El Niño drought, canal capacity was curtailed by up to 50% at times, with daily transits halved from the design capacity of 36 a day to 18. https://theloadstar.com/panama-canal-braces-for-el-nino-announcing-first-transit-restrictions/

With an average consensus price target falling between $46.50 and $48.96 Earnings date for Next Month, is pending, with Dividend anounced typically when they do their ER, like a whopping 65 cents paid by September, plus a glorious beat and guidance, plus th macro's. Google has Earnings Aug 4th, but it can be mid or late August, but it will be NEXT MONTH.
View on StockTwits ↗$GSL into Aug 4 earnings: Market cap ~$1.5B, fortress BS (debt <$700M → target <$600M, net leverage 0.3–0.5x), trailing PE ~3.6–4.1x — clear discount to $ZIM and $SBLK. 15 new ultra-high-reefer, wide-beam ECO ships already ordered and pre-chartered long-term. Fuel-efficient designs cut opex and boost FCF. Orderbook expected to generate >$1B Adj. EBITDA. 100% charter cover for 2026. Hormuz + Panama/El Niño force longer routes → higher utilization/rates. Essential cargoes (food, AI hardware, edge devices, $SPY , critical minerals, LNG, OIL $USO ) keep moving even with oil spikes or conflict. Longer voyages put more cash into efficient operators’ coffers. Q2 est. $2.34–2.45 EPS / ~$187M rev. Dividend (~$0.65) typically announced with results. Locked cash flows + modern fleet + cheap valuation. Not advice. $GSL $ZIM $SBLK
View on StockTwits ↗@smnorgy yeah I think last I was paying attention $CWCO has a big project for desalinization in HI. They also lost a Baja California project at the end of the pandemic because local Mexican politics and they ended up liquidating a lot of those holdings. My start for entering or adding to holdings is heavily weighted by PE. I just finished the Myth of the Rational Market and I had 2 key take aways. 1. No human institution is rational... Like $GME was crazy. 2. Since the 1930s buying in at low PE ratios, under 10, leads to market beating results... Probably. Like if statistics can be believed. See Graham and Buffett. In my portfolio I think $SIG and $GSL are my best finds this year if $INTC hadn't gone bananas 😂
