Mexico’s Inflation Rate YoY surged to 4.02% in February 2026, exceeding the 3.90% estimate and rising from January’s 3.79%. https://sigmanomics.com/MX/inflation-rate-yoy This marks the highest inflation reading since July 2025, reflecting renewed price pressures primarily from food and energy sectors. The persistent overshoot above Banxico’s 3% target has triggered peso depreciation and higher local bond yields as markets reassess monetary policy timing. $CHINGON.X $MXF $USDMXN $VIX $SPY

View on StockTwits ↗$MXF President of Mexico lost power to cartels, eliminating voting process for Supreme Court by popular vote 1. Political Influence: Cartels control the political landscape by threatening, intimidating, or killing opposing politicians. This undermines democracy, as the popular vote becomes irrelevant if cartels eliminate candidates they don’t favor. 2. Control Over Borders: Cartels influence border regions, controlling and manipulating trade and migration. This power threatens national stability and pressures the government. 3. Threat to Journalists: Journalists’ safety is compromised, limiting press freedom. Reporters investigating cartel activities face threats, violence, or assassination, leading to self-censorship and lack of accountability. 4. Limited Government Power: These factors significantly weaken the Mexican government. Cartels control political outcomes, limit press freedom, and manipulate border security, diminishing the government’s ability to enforce law and order.
